depends which mid wilshire we're speaking of -- people call everything west of Normandie mid wilshire sometimes, but I really consider mid wilshire to be mostly the Miracle Mile district (la brea to fairfax) -- that area is just crowded, crime is present but not all that bad. Korea Town is to the east, and is kinda sketchy, but not as bad as it was in the 80s
that hotel is right by where Otis Art Institute used to be. Don't walk around at night, and stay away from the parks (day, not so bad, night, dangerous). I mean it. You're just as likely to be picked up by police as mugged by a crackhead or fucked with by 18th Street or Mara Salvatrucha
