Its not "superstitious crap" - what you are proposing is a negative act - if you are arguing that its right to pay for software then tell your boss to pay for it before you grass him.
If it's revenge you want and it backfires - that is your negativity/karma hitting you back.
if you get away with it and your boss suffers, what will you do to the next person who pisses you off? up the ante?
the best you can do out of this situation for yourself is get another job
