i think:
his bosses sisters fiance committed suicide, and so his boss to go back to germany to see the family. The guy committed suicide in a car in a garage by inhaling the fumes. But when his boss was asked to go back home (presumably to see the family), he went "red in the ear".
But then when wendell rang his boss about "a ticket?", a woman answered speaking excellent english.. but wendell knows that his bosses wife doesn't speak good english. And then when he spoke to his boss, his boss said he cant return to germany for the funeral.
This is all A TRICK so that his boss can stay in portugal with this "woman" and watch the euro 2004 while his wife is back home in germany. The bosses wife thinks he is only with colleageues, carste and wendell.
But now wendell feels so bad, because he has discovered his bosses BIGGEST TRICK. Now he thinks he will have to make up stories to his bosses wife.
