I often seem to have problems like "how do I divide this page in columns which are not the same size, but look balanced" or "how high should be this section so the whole thing doesn't look divided randomly". I need some grid layout composition rules of thumb to stick to and to be conscious of what I'm doing when I break them. I think the viewer's eye sees and likes proportions even if he's not aware of that, so I'd better learn how it's done.
