    what method are using?

    I always have nice results with centerline. Unfortunately it's only usable with after a bw conversion [not greyscale]. Advanced centerline it's also a good option, more accurate.

    In v12 there's a "Photo Low Res" that gives very smooth and precise lines.

    so... try this:
    use the mentioned filter. change the noise filter to 'High'. Node reduction to more than 50. Using the preset 'silhouete' option also has nice results. Tweak the filters for better results.

    Note: The image has to have some quality/resolution for a better result.
