you cant sit on a 1 goal lead, not against a team like france, and france played poorly, how often did you see Henry come in from the wing, which is where he scored most of his premiership goals from. France played down the middle and into the english brick wall. Surely the barage of shots on the english goal was a wake up call and time to change the 'gameplan'.
And, ireland didnt have any world class players in the charton days, not one bar maybe a young roy keane. Ireland had no choice but to try and fluke it. England on the other hand....have no excuse, such talent, such waste. But anyway, hopefully it'll make england tougher and make for an interesting tournament.
