personally, i'm trying to reclaim the co-opted and now pejorative term "hippie" in the spirit of any marginalized group that has taken an epithet and turned it into a badge of honor (ther are many examples which i don't need to go into...)
entropy, and the usual generational shift have turned what was once a political and philosophical reaction against the status-quo and turned it into a sub-catagory of wandering, burnt out rich kids who choose not to wash their hair, and for some reason wear giant patch-work skirts over their jeans. and i'm not just talking about the females.
fuck-em.
they are now ruining perfectly acceptable terms. i wouldn't use "vibe" either, but i'm working up to it.
for god's sake even quintessntial terms like "peace" and "love" sound flakey now.
we're all taking a giant collective step to the right, as evidenced by this post.
fuck the man, his rat-race, and those who defile what was once a sound argument for social change.
grumble grumble...
