i like that a lot more. works for me. three things though:
1. i'd bring the water/dirt closer to the type, there's a lot of space between them right now
2. make the dirt circles instead of squares, maybe
3. use less dirt squares/circles...it's going to be a real pain to see them when you shrink the logo on to a letterhead or biz card
