im in the exact same situation except im the guy, from my tale i would like to say, yeah he'll come around, which he might, but right now i think the last thing he wants to be all buddy buddy, well actually he wants your attention a lot, but doesnt want to show it. he'll act pissy but he still craves you. be honest with him and don't play games and im sure things will work themselves out.
btw, this is horrible advice, use caution.
