wood green is cheap, I lived there for a while, and its on the tube. Its quite far north but is safe and has cinemas, big supermarkets and stuff. Not the nicest place but London on a budget sucks and your options are pretty limited. I wouldnt really recomend it, much better to go somewhere else.
