I'd say toshiba all the way, by far the most reliable and serviceable - otherwise IBMs are troopers and Dells will break often but have the most lineant replacement policy so they might be worthwhile, too. Stay away from sony, it will magically become obsolete within 6 months, and it will also lose its silver shine in 3
