OK I'll take the bait....
They have not gone to mars yet. We are still years away from going.
It will take 6 months to get there. Then due to the planetary cylcles and alignments the people who go will have to stay for over 2 years so they can take the 6 month trip back. and while they are there they will have to grow their own food and make their own air and water.
Personally I would only go if they sent a hot chick with me. or atleast a nicely shaped android programmed for companionship.
