it's the same as signing up to be a cop or a firefighter. you can't puss out when duty calls. it's an oath you take.
my friend was killed in the line of duty and i was hurt yes, but also incredibly proud. he pulled a guy over for doing 10+ and the guy didn't want a ticket and shot him as he approached the car. just as senseless as iraq but that's part of the job description.
