oh and abizz. I think my interpretation of normalise is different to your own. I think Sahihi lifted a massively weighted image out of it's 'normal' context and projected into a new 'normal' context i.e. onto your sister, mother uncle etc. If that spurns anything in your imagination it should be reflected the next time you happen upon a hardcore image. Maybe a little trasposition of the normalised image will replace that of the soulless pornstar with that of a real person maybe even your sister or your mother. Maybe he wanted to spurn this transformation in people so that they view pornography as something real and not an objectified spectacle. Yes I know its harping back to the early days when it was believd that art could/should affect the morality of the masses etc etc. and i'm too cynical to follow him but the notion that these images are harmful is dangerous in itself. I haven't even sat down to consider these images but that was my initial reaction anywayz.
