i had a problem yesterday with my Classic environment. I just deleted the System Folder and replaced it with a fresh one from another computer which is able to run Classic. That's kind of extreme though, and kind of risky. First, just try shutting down your computer and trying again before doing anything drastic. It worked for me though. Just make sure that there's all the 39 items in the System Folder when you copy it over. I had to copy it to a firewire drive first, then copy it to the new computer for it to work.
