if you don't have clients when you start you are in for an uphill battle. you can have all the skills you want but it wont mean anything without clients and clients are all about relationships and not skills. ever notice how the lame companies get good clients? you know you have worked at a company and thought to yourself, i can do this better than them, they waste so much time and money, why do we need a team of 8 people doing what 2 skilled people could actually do?, why don't the clients understand how bloated the services they are paying for are? well it isn't because of the quality of work or budgets, it's because of the connections and relationships.
