Lived there for a while, Wife is from there... It really is a great area to live. I might consider moving back if I can find a job. Which leads me to my next point.
Its hard to find a Design Job there. There are only a few firms.... and some In house jobs at companies.... and even some at Nike,,, adidas... etc. Over all it is a LARGE freelance community. Most people there freelance. Good Luck finding a job cuz its a bear of a place to get in, just cuz of the lack of jobs in our field there.
Wieden and Kennedy are there.. might try and see if they have their internship going on this year. http://www.wk.com
