    I would suggest hiring a good copy writer so that you don't attract a huge group of the stereotypical Geocities/Angelfire user. It's just a thought. Market the product well.

    There are still free hosting sites out there that have no ads. Quite a few of them. So it's not quite as crazy as you want it to be.

    Also take into consideration the amount of bandwidth that you'll be using, especially if you allow remote image loading. That seems to be what lots of people who search for free hosting are into these days. Bandwidth alone will be enough to drain you.

    I think you're under the impression that you'll be using your inheritance to do something positive for the internet world, but you're basically shelling out money that you could use for something actually beneficial rather than hosting some kids who are capable of closing out a couple of pop-up windows occasionally.
