You don't think any other f*cking directors in Hollywood get their cr*p films made because of their connections? Puh-lease.
Let me tell you something...this movie was successful because it was fresh and different and very beautiful. Sure, not everyone loved it; while I believe most people did, there are plenty of people who just aren't turned on by the non-fairlytale ending and lack of obvious dialogue. To those people I can only say: I hear Aston Kutcher is going to play the husband when they film "Lost in Translation 2: Shanghai Nights with Detective Cody Banks." It will be made by some no-name director with no connections, I'm sure.
