i forgot to buy my mother flowers on easter, and i didn't send a card on her birthday, various family members called to remind me it was mother's day and that i had better do something to make up for my heartless ungestures. sunday morning i got a girl from work to help me pick out something from the store that my mom would like b/c i honestly have no idea what mom's are into. after settling on a pink and yellow terrycloth bath robe, i handed over the plastic and asked for a gift receipt, had the cashier wrap it b/c i don't own and wrapping paper and there was no way the comic section of the metro paper was going to fly this time. i jumped in my car to drive to my parents house for dinner, i had to do this because i waited to the morning of mother's day to buy the gift and it was obliviously too late to mail the robe that would (hopefully) make my mom love me again. i got all the home and realize i didn't buy a card, the first thing i see sitting on the table are fresh flowers, they are for my mother, from my little brother, with a card attached (damn him) the card reads "happy mothers day love, chris (the good son)" damn him again. i imagine the robe has a greater perceived value then the flowers and the fact that i am had delivering the gift will hopefully make up for my lack of a thoughtful card mass produced by hallmark, the company that cares. either that or it will just prove that i waited to the last min to throw together an acceptable mother's day for the woman that carried me in her womb.

glad to see the blogging. i had a turkey club for lunch, the bacon wasn't nearly crispy enough.
