If you have an expensive one, say a wireless, it might be worth just screw it open and wipe the surface lightly. The guarantee would be screwed, at least with Microsofts keyboards, but who has time to wait for a repair.
Speaking of which, anyone interested in a wireless keyboard that types "bbbbbb..." automatically?
