Well Im from Holland myself. Been in Amsterdam hunderds of times. I do not like it. Actually i do avoid going there. Its filthy, junkies, fashionvictims, and not exiting at all to say the least.
For myself. I have an appt. in Scheveningen (beach next to The Hague/Den Haag) and a office in the city centre of The Hague itself. Comparing to Amsterdam living standerds in rent and shopping for suppies is 50% down. So affordable and a very inspiring and relaxing atmosphere. Nice people and nice places to go out and stuff. Beach is close. Forget about fucking A'dam, go The Hague. You will love it.
