Video consistently uses processor to read and write to video files stored on your local or shared drive. A laptop, any laptop after a while will bevome very hot due to the processor constistently processing. I highly suggest rocking a desktop instead.
I have used a Sony Viao in the past for Avid Dv Express, and found it to be fairly reliable.
