I think that the style is just fashion. You know, bt3a is cool becuase it's so slap dash. It's associated with people in their bedrooms bashing together that's brilliantly funny and unattatched from the establishment. 6Therefore has more credibility. Same with the kittens on the credits to Sara Cox's channel 4 show. I'm not keen on it.
GTA vice city did the same sort of thing.
