I see what you're saying.. and yes it should be like that. But I know that a lot of people work freelance temporarily (in between jobs) so it's hard to justify paying so much for software that they'll only be using professionally for a few weeks/months. They'd have to up their rate 100% and get no work (because of the price)! Just Quark on it's own costs around £1000 eh? And most people would need final cut pro, after effetcs, illy, ps, flash and dreamweaver on top of that. Yikes.
