God and religion is something that Man created. Man isn't without fault. So God or at least the idea of God isn't without fault. I'm not sure where i heard that one but just wanted to mention it.
about the shroud, i don't think it really matters at all if Jesus was real or not. growing up, i've always believed that the story of Jesus was not real, it was just a story like Adam and Eve.
the violence was there only to show that Jesus went through a lot for us. That was Mel's intention. simple as that.
I think satan looked dumb especially at the end when Jesus died and Satan wig blew off, so much humiliation at once for him.
I wasn't sure about the baby. what did that mean? i'm thinking it's the antichrist. was it to show that it was coming?
about Jesus' sex life: there's books about the 30 years of Jesus' life that's not mentioned in the Bible. That he married Mary Magdalene. Also about Jesus' brother or sister. Mary supposedly had children after Jesus.
overall as a movie, i didn't like the approach Mel took with the movie, making it so stylize and all those slow motion scene to make thing dramatic. I wish he made it more realistic. more like it was really happening like a documentary than a hollywood movie. i think the violence would've looked more real and the message would've gotten across more effectively instead of being forced upon the viewer.
