    I myself am an amateur futorologist.

    The Futurist is a seemingly cheesy, but influential journal:

    The Long Now Foundation (named by Brian Eno) is building a 10,000 year clock to promote long-term thinking:

    Bukminster-Fuller did alot of work on long-term thinking too.

    Oh yeah, check out the world reknowned Harvard Biologist E.O. Wilson's The Future of Life, In which he discusses the biodiversity bottleneck we face in the next 100 years or so (and basically says that we won't survive unless we drastically change the way we're doing things).
