Depends upon what level youre at. Also depends upon what level or experience your boss has as well. If he knows the client, as he should, his decision could be a bit more educated. If all of the needs are there in so far as structure is concerned design really is opinion. If he/she is paying you their decision stands. Oe thing you ought to do if you feel so strong about it is to spend a night after work and make what you think works. Shw him or her in the morning and ask if they dig it ... if it is something that you have flushed out i couldnt see why they wouldnt give some pointers to refine and show as a variant. If they are as open and willing to teach as they also should be then you have a good boss. If their way stands without an explination of some sort beyond "because i think its bad" then you have a bad situation.
If youve been working professionally without having an internship of some sort and this is one of your first jobs I would learn to open your head a bit to criticism. Better to learn how to deal with it while on someones payroll.
