talib kweli is easily the least impressive member of the "conscious hip-hop" camp. Common made him sound whiny and silly on their track on Kanye's album.
Mos Def went gold. The Roots went gold. if you put out quality hip-hop, it can go gold. Talib got it backwards, and just named his album Quality. (there is one great track on that album: Get By, but credit Kanye for that)
I'll reserve judgement on the new album when i hear it, I'll admit Talib seems to have learned how to rap on rhythm in the last few years. but they sampled the beatles? no way that'll get cleared and put on the retail version.
