24 years ago tonight was the only time I ever got to see Suicide live and of course they were fucking brilliant. It was a such memorable night for other reasons too. I saw Meg White from The White Stripes at the bar but was too scared/stoned to speak to her, durr, and I also met Andrew Weatherall & we chatted for ages, shared spliffs at the after show party & I also gave him a copy of my Jazz Mag Numb 2 mix. Fast forward over 20 years at last years Groovy Record Fayre where I met Andy's partner and I chatted to her about meeting him and mentioned that I had given him a copy of a cheeky mix years previously (which incidentally has an AW related track on it) and she laughed saying they both listened to it loads of times and that Andy had LOVED it! I was so made up of course, phew rock n roll eh?
