I've been up north and down south twice in the past month but still managed to find some sweet 7"s on my travels. There were plenty of albums too but these are a few of the singles I was pleased to pick up cheap, usually for £1 or 50p, though I did pay £30 for the flexi disc and that was a bargain as I haggled it down from £85 but the guy wanted it gone as he said he hated flexis.
This was an odd one I had not heard of before and it turns out to be a one off release in 1970. It's pleasant enough soft pop and the guys involved would later go on to release another single in '72 as Supporters United titled Up For The Cup, but both records bombed so that was the end of their short lived music career.
I was chuffed to bits to find this flexi as the only other one I had seen before belonged to DJ Food who has his copy featured in the Wobbly Sounds book to which I also contributed many of my discs to a few years ago. I knew it was rare as it was only available for a short time as a free disc with a book published in 1969 titled Young London - Permissive Paradise. I have several records by and connected to the great DJ Emperor Rosko - a lot more than ones by Jonathan King that's for sure! A cool connection with this disc is that the band playing on it, The Pleasure Garden are actually The Iveys who were soon to become Badfinger and the disc was one of the first to be recorded in the original Apple Records studio.

Proving I will buy anything if it's trashy and cheap, this signed sleeve is by Mandy Smith who is probably best known for her relationship with 47yr old Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman in 1983, when Smith was only 13.
Also in the odd pile was this South African release by 13 year old Gwynneth Ashley Robin singing the praises of 10 year old Little Jimmy Osmond, it was also a hit in Angola and issued in this dubious picture sleeve, it was the 70's...
The thought of 21 Dutch pirate radio jingles appealed to me straight away but imagine my delight at finding that the A side on this record is a great funky instrumental from the late 60's.
One side of the label caught my eye, turns out to be a charity record for the ferry disaster in 1987 though oddly this came out the following year, I noticed on Discogs the singer has released over 60 albums!
A pair of US discs which have labels on that were cut out from the back cover of MAD magazine in April 1957, one plays Lollipop by The Chordettes and the other is Sugartime by The McGuire Sisters.
I've been looking for this MM record for years and it turns up in a 3 for a £1 box along with this rare Billy Fury one, crazy man, crazy!
