  The 2019 State of QBN discussion contains an unusually poignant bit of QBN history.

  An old member returned and explained that QBN had once been a major source of creative inspiration. They specifically remembered the old homepage, which showed current threads and design news.

  They described QBN as something that had kept them thinking at a higher level about design.

  Several other old members agreed.

  This is important because it captures the transition from:

  QBN = design community

  to

  QBN = whatever the fuck QBN is now.

  That transformation is itself part of the lore.
