    4. Palimpsest vs. Rendle

    This is unquestionably one of the modern QBN Hall of Fame entries.

    It began as an argument involving Rendle, eventually becoming a challenge for a formal debate.

    Palimpsest did what any reasonable internet person would do:

    He built an entire sporting event around it.

    The proposed infrastructure included:

    a referee
    judges
    12 rounds
    defined topics
    promotional graphics
    Twitch streaming
    fight commentary
    snacks
    tomatoes
    calculators
    potential NFTs

    The proposed judging team included scarabin, drgs, Morning_star and utopian, with crazyprick and grafician as commentators.

    The topics were going to include:

    COVID
    5G
    evolution
    taxonomy
    calculators
    artificial intelligence

    Then came the best possible ending.

    Rendle didn't show up.

    Palimpsest subsequently issued a mock “FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE” from Prague declaring victory by forfeit.

    The QBN community proceeded to treat the non-event as an actual championship.
