Someone was saying something last week about Argentina - the people are so passionate, they even sang their national anthem louder than God save the King...
Ya see though, there's a fine line between passion, pride and insecurity. In Argentina they definitely overlap... and it's fucking annoying.
Can you imagine.... peacefully hiking in the Sacred Valley on your way to Machu Picchu... and run into a group of Argentines who didn't stop chanting AR GEN TI NA for over an hour.
It's pathetic sometimes.
- raises hand...guilty as charged, but I was commenting on the passion needed for a team to win at this level, I find overly nationalistic fans annoying too_niko
- the Norwegians were fun, so were the Scotts, pretty much every other fanbase who went out and had a good time and didn't take it too seriously._niko
- Amen, canoe.
The thing is that all the passion and patriotism won't make you good at football. Any number of teams every WC play for the flag ...Continuity - ... (France's team in South Africa notwithstanding), not all of them advance.
Argentinians get to the where they get by cheating. And FIFA let them get away ...Continuity - ... with it. Simple as that.Continuity
- lol Continuity I was thinking the same thing, after I posted it if playing for the flag was true then Serbia would win everything all the time lol_niko
- The Israel of South America.Nairn
- No different from the yanks constantly chanting U S A U S Ai_monk
