something similar happened to me a while back, rasko. i'd ordered 6 or 7 books (and specified that they be sent in one package) which i needed quite quickly. i checked back a few days after ordering and one had changed to 3-5 weeks. so i switched my order pref to 'dispatch when ready', meaning that it ended up being 7 separate packages. this wouldn't have been too bad, but it coincided with a hotel putting a 'hold' on #500 from my bank account, which was more than was in the account at the time. so basically, every one of the 6 transactions that went through from ebay while this hold was on meant that i incurred a #25 charge from my bank.
i got the money back in the end, but it took about a month to sort it all out.
