The massive doomsday shelter in Atchison, Kansas, is known as the Vivos Survival Shelter and Resort. It is an expansive underground complex developed by California-based company Vivos.The FacilityLocated just south of Atchison (about 50 miles northwest of Kansas City), the site uses a former U.S. Army storage facility. It sits inside a man-made, pillar-limestone mine with walls reportedly six times stronger than standard concrete.Features & LayoutCapacity: It is designed to accommodate up to 5,000 people and their personal RVs or vehicles.Depth: The complex is located 130 feet underground and sealed behind blast-resistant doors.Amenities: Vivos designed the space to function as both an apocalypse shelter and a resort.
