First attempt at baguettes. Came out better than I expected.

    Mostly following this:

    • Good lord, pups, look at that wide open crumb.
      I can smell all this.

    • Look at those holes!

    • Mmmm, all those holes to hold beef stew gravy or chili.Akagiyama

    • Does that need any specialised crap?maikel
    • O.o Allez ! J'apporte le vin et le fromage ...OBBTKN
    • How was the crust, pups?Continuity
    • @maikel specialised crap makes it easier, but I think not necessary. I bought some stuff in preparation cos I had a memetic response to it.skinny_puppy
    • @continuity could be better. It was a thin shell that cracked - not the thick tough scrapping yr palate that artisanal breads sometimes have...skinny_puppy
    • ...which pleased me, but also now made me annoyed with local bakers. But it wasn't crackly like I think it should be. Need to fine tune the baking process.skinny_puppy
    • Frankly, I prefer a thinner crust. Call me crazy, but I kind of object to getting my mouth lacerated by a jambon beurre sandwich.Continuity
