@garbage + @palim Deserve a bump i think:
Felting is def closer to dry clay modelling.. basically you are taking a literal bundle of loose fluff and poking it with a needle until the fibres kinda 'hook up' with eachother and get more solid, then you keep poking and you can start to shape them. Feels very much like working with clay in my limited experience working with clay - very slow and methodical, lots of time and room to adjust and adapt the shape.
Its really therapeutic, but the needles are SUPER sharp and barbed so if you stab yourself its a bloody painful bitch. i have puncture wounds all over my left hand then i gotta take a break for a week to heal then get back to it.
- Have you tried finger protectors or are they too uncomfortable to work with?palimpsest
- Yea ive tried finger protectors and they do help but make it hard to work for sure, theres something about the tactileness of feeling the wools pressure, etcmantrakid
- that i really like, and feel like i 'need', so when i put finger protectors on i feel like im working with numb fingers which makes it harder.mantrakid
