    Cooking for one this evening as the family are having smoked haddock.

    Made up a marinade for some chicken thighs earlier - an ad hoc pineapple and turmeric based thing, with a load of spices including smoked paprika. On tasting thought it was missing something so hoyed in some extra bits and pieces and thought "ooh" as I remembered the liquid smoke sitting in the fridge. Added perhaps too big a splash and mixed the chicken in.

    I just got the bowl out to put it in the oven, caught a whiff and Oh fuck. It distinctly smellsml of lrefined frankfurter juice. Ho hum.

    I'll update later, once eaten.

    • So, two hours later, it's eaten. It didn't in any way taste of frankfurter, but was disappointingly bland, given how much Shit I thought I threw in. Boo.Nairn
    • Remnants will probably taste great tomorrow, scraped, shredded, fried and put into a bun with tahini & mayo sauce, shredded cabbage and melted cheddar.Nairn
