    Hey gang,

I've got an Arturia keyboard in my studio; it's lovely AND when paired with software and Ableton it's a gem...

...BUT when i'm on the go, travelling, camping, etc I want something that is ideally:

    I. Portable / battery driven (I've got a 49-key in the studio and it's great BUT not ultra portable):

II. Built in sound(s) (nice to have could be my own sounds OR record on device).

III. Sequencing; recording would be great, BUT it's more about getting down ideas, playing, etc.

I know some will say "teenage engineering this" OR "teenage engineering that", BUT I can't break the bank with food, utilities, etc. on the rise AND this dang wife & these wiener kids.

    THANKS BRO(S) (& @shellie).

    : )

    • THIS would be great BUT a tad big and a bit more than i'd like to spend:

    • I've got the same, and it never moves :-)
A melodica is like less than $100, plus the weiner kids can enjoy it too :-)

    • You make music while camping? :)jagara
    • I'd say an iPad and maybe a keith mcmillen k-board or QueNexus and choice apps.microkorg
    • See if you can get a 2nd hand OP-1. You'll be amazed at what an amazing little sketchbook it is that you'll always reach for.microkorg
    • IMO the OP-1 excels as a fun sketchbook for ideas. Not so good when it comes to finalising tracks, you need to save out to a computer for that.microkorg
    • Not YET @jagara; #goals. I've got my eye on a Marketplace OP-1 @microkorg. I wanted an OB-4, BUT it's too limiting, no line out, etc. MORE a speaker...ideaist
