"OpenAI exec becomes top Trump donor with $25 million gift"

So what tools are just as easy-to-use and has the same features (projects, custom bots, etc) as ChatGPT?

    • I hear ya but Google, Amazon, Meta all contributed to Trump. US is all about the donor class, not people anymore (for a while now actually)YakuZoku
    • Cunts, the whole lot of 'emcanoe
    • If you read that article the OpenAI president is literally helping the GOP retain control of Congress.yuekit
    • That's where the money is going. Google, Amazon and others donated around a million dollars to Trump's inauguration.yuekit
    • But yeah all the good LLMs are pretty much interchangeable in terms of capabilities at this point, image and video models probably more differentiated.yuekit
    • "LLMs are pretty much interchangeable in terms of capabilities at this point."
      No.
      palimpsest
    • No? For the average user I doubt they will notice much difference between ChatGPT and Gemini for instance.yuekit
    • I consider myself average and I do be seeing a difference. To each they're own. There's a clear approach difference between OpenAI and Claude for example.palimpsest
    • Claude doesn't do image generation because it's more focused on code.palimpsest
    • There's a clear difference in approach and use, even for the average user.palimpsest
    • Fair enough, I can't argue with your lived experience.yuekit
    • Which one do you use BTW?yuekit
    • I use Claude for Code.
      ChatGPT for conversations.
Gemini for images and short/quick questions.
      Ain't even trying to front.

    • They all hit diffren.palimpsest
    • Yeah my only point was that you don't *need* ChatGPT. Gemini is also good for coding and yes lots of developers seem to like Claude, I haven't tried it yet.yuekit
    • Even as a product Claude positions itself differently to ChatGPT which I think is a good thing.palimpsest
    • Gemini seems last in line trying to build itself from the scraps left behind but had ground it's place in image generation.palimpsest
    • The new thing I'm interested in is using node-based workflows like n8n and ComfyUI, you can call any model you need via API.yuekit
    • I do agree that Gemini would be a good compromise, even if it hit diffren.
My point was that the services sell themselves (reasonably) as different products.

    • ground = found (it's place)palimpsest
    • *its, obviously.palimpsest
    • I'll take on the opportunity to say that Adobe has made a better move in acknowledging its force as a UI tool rather than an AI tool.palimpsest
    • If you want to give n8n a try you can already start with Claude for Chrome which demystifies learning patterns.palimpsest
    • Yeah I suspect this approach of directly prompting models in a chatbox window will seem outdated at some point. People will use them via software like Adobeyuekit
    • or through the kinds of automation/workflow tools I just mentioned.yuekit
    • I have been chatGPT for years, but now I'm far more impressed with Gemini. I vibe coded a VJ/DJ software over the weekend with minimal crashes along the wayShenanigansTV
    • ... Nanobanana is far superior to Dalle. GPT has SORA right now and I cracked open Codex, and was satisfied, but I've not CLaude'dShenanigansTV
    • @ShenanigansTV I think the most impressive is using coding agents to directly edit files on your local machine. Once I tried that (using Cursor andyuekit
    • Claude Code via command line) I can understand why some developers become fanatical about AI.yuekit
