On a call for a "board" related to a "Drug Advocacy Council" I do work with/for...
... It's very real/raw talk related to "unhoused", addiction, etc. etc. etc. AND it's a group of folks trying their best to help people with real mental / physical health issues that can't or simply WON'T help themselves.
As a recovering addict myself, I have perspective and empathy towards this group and feel a real desire/need to do what I can.
In the current state of the world, funding for this realm becomes very difficult; it's heavily reliant on government funding, donations, etc. etc. etc. which seem less and less.
Any experience in this world with folks?
- 80+ overdoses reported in Vancouver yesterday; other side of the country as Ontario, BUT things seem to be going the opposite direction this group intends...ideaist
- No direct experience myself, but these trends are so concerning, and I’ve been close to people who have thankfully been supported by families to Recovery.monospaced
- Sponsorship strategy? Yes, I have raised and managed six-figure sponsorship deals. Coincidentally, the company that certified me was in Toronto.canoe
- Not sure if you were talking about fundraising or chaperoning an addict to recovery.canoe
- My friend that's a drunk "has it under control" despite drinking himself out of two marriages. Fuck.canoe
