    The fucking 4D ModelShop, in London, shut down earlier this year. I just found out earlier.

    It was always a bit over-priced, but you could basically get everything in there, and I loved popping down at least a few times a year for the last twenty odd years, jusyt to rifle through all the cool materials, tools and toys they had. Nice people too.

    Leafing through internet comments on the subject, it appears that a massive drop in foreign students buying stuff/services from there for their studies is at least partly to blame. This made me think and check through my enquiries over the last couple of yeas and - Yup - there're a lot less international student names... .

    Well done, UK. We have more immigration, legal and illegal, than we've ever had and yet..?

    • what locals? in london all the universities are 50 - 70% international students. they pay 4x the fees so why bother replacing them with poor local folk.kingsteven
