I'm back from a fruitful dig in Northampton/Milton Keynes which turned up some amazing finds in only 3 days, these are some of the singles I'll get to the albums soon.
A Scottish football 7" I had not come across before - and I've seen a lot! Their glory days may be behind them now as Rangers are not doing so well at the moment.
Odd one off release by the holiday camp company on a label that only released 2 singles and it looks like it's signed on the label, maybe by Loopy himself!?
Another signed oddity featuring a cover of a song by The Nitty Gritty Dirt band first on the Paint Your Wagon soundtrack.
The toe-tapping B of the A side of a Phil Spector cover by Cleo (backed by The Stones). The ALO Orchestra are probably most famous for being sampled by The Verve for Bitter Sweet Symphony.
A scarce early 70's Nigerian disc of highlife-juju fusion music in beautiful condition.
Promotion disc of jingles and radio links, a very similar release to a whole LP of them I have released in the mid 70's via Anglian Productions.
Rare original mis-pressed Beatles EP with no track info on the A side!
Best 7" finds by some distance was a box of records near the till of a second hand warehouse a friend put me on to, I asked how much they were and the guy said "they are free, we've had so many donations of records we're just giving them away, so help yourself" unbelievable!?! There was dozens of 60's promo's and despite my gentle protest that "some of these must be quite rare" he insisted I take as many as I like, so I did, but slipped him £20 (which he tried to pass back to me) if only for karma reasons. I've not come across such generosity in a shop before but as I left I wondered wtf I must have missed if they had so many more. This is a handful of the best not including the Tamla ones!
