"U.S. added just 73,000 jobs in July and numbers for prior months were revised much lower.
June and May totals were down by a combined 258,000 from previously announced levels."
Turns out that as the media asked why there wasn't more of an impact from Trump's tariffs they were just looking at bad numbers.
