so i know i have like 3 unfinished vibe coding/dev projects underway currently, but i just started a new one.. and this time its from the ground up..
i have been using chatgpt to help me vibe engineer a module..
have the schematic like 90% of the way done, had a few last minute tweeks to do as i foolishly just started designing without giving it a proper spec path .. but its basically its been a step by step instruction for drawing the schematic.so far its been checking out every time i do the electriical check.
this is the first module design i have done..
the other was a vibe breadboarding but i hit a wall as my understanding of electrical engineering is zero, and chatgpt wasnt as good at the time.
and the first one i did was pre-chatgpt and i outsourced the schematic and pcb design to a guy on fiverr who delivered something, but not the right thing .. and then 2 years later i tried to use chatgpt to reverse engineer it so i could write code.. again, with no coding or electrical engineering experience.
but that was like 4 months after chatgpt was released so it was pretty rudimentary level ..but the current version of chatgpt is totally crushing it.. it reads schematics and highlights mistakes, every part i finish it asks me to upload screenshots of just the bit we did to check, points out mistakes or gives a green light.
the worst part at the moment is having a day job and only having the weekend and after work.. i need like a solid week off to do it..
but yep.. i would say watch this space..
- and yep, the vibe code app i was building, i got pretty close to having it finished, well, i did have it finished, but then i realised that the audio engineautoflavour
- wasnt easily replaced to use JUCE, and all of a sudden, it looked like i had to rebuild the entire thing.. and then life got in the way and now its 6 monthsautoflavour
- i sense if i can get one across the line, it will drive the motivation to finish the others..autoflavour
- Niiiiiice! I have a few large breadboards of stalled sampler/synth ideas, ‘n I have a long ass list with ideas fleshed out for several eurorack modulesprophetone
- Sounds like you’re way further along and can see light at end of tunnel which is exciting stuff, can’t wait to see resultprophetone
- at the end of the schematic tunnel.. then the pcb design and layout tunnel awaits.. after that is the coding tunnel.. so lots of tunnels .. on the upside im notautoflavour
