I remember hearing this song and video 5 years ago on Pitchfork or Stereogum or some music blog or social media. I remember passing it around to friends that love Pavement/Stephen Malkmus as much as I do.
Fast Forward to this year. My son got himself a cute little hipster girlfriend. Her and her friends got tickets to some show and he was bummed it sold out before he could ask if he could go too. I thought I had never heard the band before and was surprised it sold out such a huge venue (half of an NBA stadium!) She got him a shirt and he's been wearing it almost everyday and listening to her music around the house.
Last month for his 14th birthday I hooked him up with his own turntable and he's been buying a bunch of records.
The other day he said "dad, I picked up this early Beabadoobee record and it has a song about the band you like Pavement".
I was blown away! I remeber hearing it then but never heard or thought about it again until now!
