    In retrospect rereading these comments by Sam Altman from the beginning of the year ("We are now confident we know how to build AGI as we have traditionally understood it")...I think what he really meant was "we have no idea how to build AGI."

    It increasingly seems like ASI is an admission that you can't scale your way from LLMs to AGI. And so instead companies are going to focus on building targeted, narrow AI applications on top of LLMs, which they will call "superintelligence."
