every year I teach a course at uni.. every year i tell the students just do the work as i will catch you cheating.. and every year i catch them.
usually its a slap on the wrist and they need to redo the course..
just got word one of them got expelled as when they were investigated by academic integrity unit, they have been at it across every class they did..brutal defeat.
its so stupid tho, the bar is already so low for this class.. like painted on the ground low .. like its more work to contract cheat than to phone it in and pass.
- reading stories about students who become so dependent on AI to solve the work for them. I'm sure some will do it just out of habit.Nutter
- thats not necessarily a bad thing, a student that can pass a degree using AI is more employable in some roles. digital literacy innitkingsteven
- i hear our students talk about using AI to check their work. it's kind of annoying because we pay people to do that, learning is the point not the mark. but heykingsteven
- we still get a load of plagiarism even with AI, either way... some people just love cheating... as auto says it's often not easier than actually doing the workkingsteven
- Someone lacking critical skills because they've outsourced them to AI won't be employable for long.i_monk
- they arent using AI to pass, they are paying people on the internet to do the assignments for themautoflavour
