Probably me, but moreso - Amazon Prime. Firstly: I need to cancel my subscription, which I just set up prior to xmas to get three months free Prime so I could last-minute order presents for Ze Child. It's April now - I've paid for a month. D'oh.

    Now, for the Punches for:

What exactly IS the TV bit of Prime? My kid's gotten into Tom and Jerry, so I Googled and found places that show it - one of which is Prime, so I thought "Ok, I can use that for the last month I'll have it" but nope - you have to pay for it. Wut. I knew it did that with movies, havng borrowed a friend's account a while back, but Tom and fucking Jerry? Literal 80-year old content? I can't recall what the cost was, but it was like £2+ an episode. *hands in air*

So I did what every right-thinking person should do, I Torrented about 6Gb worth, so the kid'll be fine for a wee while.

    I just don't GET it.

    • They are a store and sell tv shows and movies. SOME content is free, but a lot is just for rent or for sale. Lots of other platforms do this too.monospaced
    • yeah, its very odd. i saw a film was listed on there recently and instead of a play button there was a button to subscribe to apple tv to watch it...kingsteven
    • i just did a trial of amazon music because i was traveling and it has incredibly bad algorithmic music choices. shit you would just never put togetherkingsteven
    • somehow they killed the highstreet yet replaced it with a giant online pound-shopkingsteven
    • its not that confusing... the xtra pay conntent is marked with a special icon.. like extra channels. mgm- apple ..etc... seems pretty straightforward to me...neverscared
    • but highly likely its not kidsproof if they wanna have fun and watch freely without financial consequences...neverscared
    • Ok, cool. But why are people seemingly happy to pay for that? I'm out, but i'm still wonderingNairn
    • they don't pay for it separately, it's included with any Amazon Prime accountmonospaced
